    About Us

    Vive Bene, Spesso L'Amore,
    Di Risata Molto
    "

At The Cellar, we believe that this Italian mantra -  "Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often" - holds the key to a joyful and successful life.  We try every day to live by these words, and to create an atmosphere where our guests can do the same.

From our wines and entrees, to our superb desserts, our intent is to stimulate joy - the joy of dining with friends and family, telling good stories and celebrating each other's lives.

    History

The central portion of The Cellar restaurant resides in a 100 year old house, built in 1910. The house was across Ammon Road from Casey's Corner, where the gas station is today.

The original house was added on to twice. In 1956 an addition was placed on the north end of the old house, and in the late 60's a larger addition was placed on the south end of the old house. This second addition was built by Fred and Wanda Karford, who had bought the place and turned it into Eagle's Landing Ranch. They raised their family there, and Fred owned at least two businesses: Fred and Wayne's Tires, and a clothing store on Shoup Ave. called The Captain's Quarters. He named one of the rooms in the house after his clothing store. Today we still call that room The Captain's Quarters in honor of Fred and Wanda, and their family.

The Cellar had its beginnings 27 years ago when owner Scott Hinschberger graduated from college and his parents took him out to a very fine French restaurant in Fullerton, Ca. called The Cellar. The name stuck, along with the dream Scott's father had, but never realized: to build a nice restaurant and offer exceptional food and service to exceptional people. Scott never really thought he would be able to act on his dad's dream until his son, Bryan, took a great interest in cooking and started creating the menu and recipes for a fine dining establishment.

When Scott and his partners bought the Eagle's Landing Ranch and turned it into Eagle Pines Plaza, he was given the opportunity to turn the house into an upscale restaurant, and call it The Cellar. After 100's of hours building a business plan and securing financing, the project began. Rich Stamper of Stamper Builders; CalPly Building Supplies; Arco Electric; Weimer Heating and Air Conditioning; HK Contractors; and a plethora of other contractors and individuals helped transform the old house into an elegant dining establishment with a full bar and wonderful exterior deck in the ancient pine trees. The Cellar's dining rooms seat nearly 90 people, and the bar and deck seat 42 more. The Cellar is also prepared to provide banquet and catering services for weddings, receptions, parties, and nearly any celebration of life.

Thus, the history continues as we celebrate life through the enjoyment of fine food, wine and spirits, within a delightful atmosphere. Come join us in our celebration, and help us write a lot more history. Thank You,
